Representative meeting on celebratory events on occasion of the 150th year anniversary of Phra Ajaan Mun Bhuridatta’s birth (1/2019)

On Wednesday the 20th March 2019 at 1:30 pm, Mr. Vira Rojpojchanarat, Minister of the Ministry of Culture (MOC), chaired a meeting on the celebration events which will be planned in occasion to the 150th year anniversary of Phra Ajaan Mun Bhuridatta Mahathera’s birth. The first-ever celebration for this year.

Joined with Clin.Prof. Udom Kachintorn, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Kitsayapong Siri, Permanent Secretary for Culture, as well as experts and representatives of the organisations concerned, at meeting hall 1, 8th floor, at the Ministry of Culture headquarters in Huay Kwang district, Bangkok.

The Ministry of Culture has selected a panel of representatives to facilitate the planning and preparation of the activities celebrated in the occasion of Phra Ajaan Mun Bhuridatta’s 150th anniversary of birth. To discuss and set strategies in hosting the upcoming events on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Phra Ajaan Mun Bhuridatta’s birth appropriately. As well as discussing the handling and distribution of projects and events to the agencies in charge.


Above all, the importance of these events that are being held on the occasion of Phra Ajaan Mun Bhuridatta’s 150th birth anniversary is not just celebratory, but strives to become a pilot project to spread the teachings and practices of Phra Ajaan Mun Bhuridatta to other monks, the people, and especially for the youth. So that they can have a knowledge of good virtue, a starting point for society to change into a better future.

The events planned are religious activities such as almsgiving, morning and afternoon praying, and dhamma teachings etc.
Other events/activities include; publishing books, hosting academic seminars at schools, universities, or academies to push forward for a curriculum with subjects relating to religions and ethics, exhibitions about Phra Ajaan Mun Bhuridatta’s life, and at honour forest temples whether in Thailand or abroad.
Lastly, for educational establishments, there will be a documentary made called ‘Following the Footsteps of Venerable Phra Ajaan Mun Bhuridatta Mahathera’ to be broadcasted on television and distributed as a DVD set in English.
